Brainwashed cont...

If you didn't read my previous post of being labeled brainwashed then click here. I’ve had a lot of thinking to do on this subject. I’ve prayed about it, pondered over it, and soaked in it like I would in a hot tub. My conclusion to someone calling me ‘brainwashed’ is this: EVERYONE is brainwashed. In some form or another everyone is. Whether it is one’s beliefs on liberalism, being conservative, or even on what color the sky is. The fact is that we are all influenced somehow, in some way. Some may say that my belief in Jesus Christ is all a lie. But for me it is in fact true. It’s like this: If my friend and I were to look out at the beautiful sky one evening and my friend were to comment ‘Isn’t that such a pretty blue sunset?’ I might respond ‘Yes, it is beautiful, but it looks purple to me. It’s gorgeous!’ Then and there we had our differences in the color of the sunset. But does that mean my friend isn’t right in her belief? Does that mean I am wrong? No. Because to my friend the TRUTH in her eyes was that the sky was indeed blue. That was her truth. And to me the TRUTH was that the sky was purple. That is how I saw it. So it was my truth. This goes for many things in how we view, study, or experience many things. What might be true to someone else may not be true to the next person. It’s not that they are a liar or wrong; it’s just how they view it. Some individuals may drink a chocolate/caramel coffee and one will describe it as 'chocolate coffee', while the other ones claims it is 'Carmel flavored coffee'. And this is TRUE to them. So for my friend to label me as ‘brainwashed’ for my belief in Christ, I also label her as brainwashed for believing that Jesus does not exist. What gets me though is this: As a norm, in order to be able to label someone as brainwashed shouldn’t the topics at hand be studied first? It's like someone telling somebody else that they are cooking wrong when they haven't even been in a kitchen. People are so quick to judge, condemn, criticize and point fingers when they haven’t even TRIED to figure out who Jesus is. It’s interesting to me that 90% of people refuse God or make fun of Christ even though they've never even read His word. They don’t even know Him yet are ready to blame Him. In almost all relationships people get to know someone (with an open mind) first before they categorize them. So I say this to people that ask me to have an open mind by the atheist, agnostic, or whatever else: It goes both ways. Try having an open mind (sincerely) to the Bible and who Christ is. If there is one thing I’ve learned it is this: If I am right in believing in Jesus Christ what do I have to lose? Nothing. But if you are wrong in not believing in Christ than what do you have to lose? Everything. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But eventually. Christ is what holds me together like Krazyglue, so why is that a bad thing? Why do you frown upon me for this when you don’t know me personally? What’s so wrong with my belief? When family or friends let me down or disappointment I lean on Him. Humans will always let you down so for me to get past that I seek my Lord. I pray, with love and sincerity that you give him a good chance. Just ask God 'Hey, Lord, Jesus Christ, if you exist, will you please show me and teach me about You?' What have you got to lose? And if your next challenge question is 'Well, answer me this? Than why would God allow bad things to happen?', click here.
