Why are some against Word Verificiation?

No offense to the ones who are against word verification, but I just don't understand the reasoning behind it. It only takes, what 5 seconds? Word verification is for your blog protection and it prevents the use of computer hacking. Any computer hacker can log into you blog to view (without your permission or knowledge) reading posts and view your beautiful pictures. Word verification is designed to be a simple puzzle that a human can solve easily but a computer cannot. I had it for awhile, then took it off, but now I am reconsidering because I know of so many bloggers that utilize it.

LOVE the new background and Thanksgiving button. TOO cute!! As for word verification, I think it is more to prevent against unwanted computer generated spam than to prevent hacking. At least that's what blogger says. Not sure what info hackers could get from the blogs as they are already public??

If you want to leave your verification on I will still leave you comments! It will just take me longer! LOL

Okay now to bensm to get his posted, what the heck is bensm??? HAHA

No you didn't have a typo. BENSM was my word to verify to post my comment. Man now I have to do another one. What the heck is waymyses?? (just a little bit of Jamie dry humor. Sometimes it doesn't translate to bloggyness.)

Heather word verification is what you had to do in order to leave the comment you left for me. You have to type the characters to prove you are not a computer but a real person. You can add it to your blog, but on yours you don't have it. This explains why you don't know what this is. Some people are for it and others arent'. I don't mind either way.
