Our Cool Craft

My sister Elizabeth, from Seattle, sent my kids some glass and window markers months ago. We decided to use the markers this week by applying Psalms 139:14 on Hannah's dresser mirror. This is a Biblical scripture that I've felt Hannah has really needed to realize about who she is in Christ.
Of course the marker will come off with soap and water in due time, but for now I am working with Hannah on memorizing scriptures which build her confidence and self-esteem. She has several memorized but this verse has really stuck out to me and I really want her to see it every day she looks at herself in the mirror. (Although she can't much see herself in the mirror anyway unless she stands on her pink stool, and even then the mirror is so painted over....as you can see for yourself.) It was a fun craft for the day and unique in it's own way. I think Hannah really got a 'kick' out of it! Little Jesse helped some, but I had to keep a watchful eye on his paint job. :D

  5. That is great! My daughter, who is 17, writes on her mirror, too. She puts verses on paper and decorates them and puts them on her walls, and all over her room.

  6. Hmmm, giveaways. I have never been asked that! I love winning things, and I love giving things away. Especially things that have meant a lot to me.
Sometimes the giveaways are not from me, but from the company that makes it, and that brings extra viewers in to see the review. Most people love a freebie! It is a very inexpensive form of advertising for them. And it works.
The huge giveaway sites are almost exclusively reviewers and sponsors giving away the product. 90% of my books and giveaways are from a sponsor. The rest are things I love and have to give away.

Once you give something away to someone who is so excited and it is just the thing they needed right now, you get hooked. Sometimes it is just fun, and sometimes God uses it for His glory.
I have also made some amazing friends from giveaways.

Is that more than you were asking? LOL

  7. This looks like too much fun. I miss having little ones around, leaving their finger prints, kisses, etc. on my mirrors. I'll have to get some of those paints for my grand daughters. And about that award... Umm... I did say thank you didn't I? I guess I forgot to grab it and blog about it. I'm sorry. I'll try to do that in a bit. Right now I'm having to do some tax stuff. YUCK!

  9. COOL craft indeed!!! You can also use white board markers on mirrors and it just wipes off with a baby wipe/paper towel. I always have a Bible verse on my mirror and write little love notes to my hubby :) It doesn't come off from the steam from the shower either :)
