Welcome Home Amanda

Welcome Home Amanda!

My father just gave out word today that even though my younger half-sister wasn't expected to be home from Iraq until June of 2010, she will in fact be returning to the States this Tuesday, June 2nd. I think I already made an announcement about this on Memorial Day; about how she is serving in the Army, but what a great joy it will be to have her home after being in Iraq for what seems like for years and years; too long. My father and step-mother are planning a surprise 'Welcome Home' party for her at a nearby family park, close to their home. (My sister doesn't usually have time to read my blog being over in Iraq so I'm not worried about making this post.) My husband and I hope that our little family can make it; hopefully Jesse won't be asked to cover someone else's shift; which always comes with a mix of emotions (we could always use the overtime money, but sometimes the timing just couldn't be worse.). Either way, if we can or can't make it to the 'Welcome Home Party', we are very proud of you Amanda and happy you will soon be home; safe and sound! Love you girl! Sarah

10 Love Thoughts:

  3. That is great news!We are so thankful for all that our troops do for us. All the thankless hours they spend, training and fighting for our safety, peace, and freedom. The families that endure the loss of thier loved one being away for so long. Thank you to your sister and your family! God Bless

  4. Dearest Sarah,

I've missed you! It's extremely late and I'm having a problem getting to sleep. I wanted to let you know that I haven't been on my dear friend's blog sites in a week or two until tonight. My husband has been ill and still is, so I've been posting about him on my site and updating everyone there. It's been stressful and exhausting to say the least, but I wanted to stop by to at least say hello.

I'm so happy that your sister is finally coming home. I deeply love and respect those who serve to defend our country. I hope that your family is able to make it to the homecoming for her!

Again, I wanted to stop in and see what's been happening. I don't know when I'll be back on again, hopefully soon...depending on what the following days hold with my husband Ron.

    I love you dear one,
    Alleluiabelle

  6. That's wonderful news, Sarah. The US troops have been doing such an amazing job over there, and considering the dangers, it must be equally difficult for their families back in the USA.

    Have a great Sunday!

  9. What wonderful news! I, too, will be welcoming back a sister on June 2nd! My sister has been attending school in Spain for the better part of the past two years and I could not be happier to finally have her home again. I will be thinking of you and your family as I shower my sister with love and hugs, knowing that you are doing the same!

  10. Hey Sarah, thanks for your kind comment over at Getting Down with Jesus. I've seen you around a few of the places I visit and am always encouraged by the way you encourage others.

It's a gift, and certainly not one you keep to yourself.

I've prayed for your sister's safe return and a sweet time for your family together.

    Blessings to you today.
