'Why I Blog'

I am excited to be a participant to a recent series stated by my sweet friend, Jennifer, at 'Getting Down With Jesus'. It's easy for me really. The reason I personally enjoy blogging is simple. I love to share. I love to share the love, laughter, giggles, and great smiles that I see in my two children (as above from yesterday). I blog because I believe that is how God intended for us to live our lives; as little children do (or should be able to do), full of no worries but just trusting everything will be alright. I believe no child should have to suffer, but instead should have joy and happiness in their hearts. I blog because for me, I find satisfaction in sharing the love I feel from my kids and the unconditional love I give back to them. I blog to express the positive emotions that I feel God desires us all of us to have. However, I'm not stupid either. I know this is not how every one's life really panned out to be when they were born. There is a song on my blog that plays 'I'll Walk Through the Valley if You Want Me Too'; you should turn it up and listen to the words. The lady is singing about her own valley (meaning her own struggles), but that she will rely on Jesus because she places her trust in Him to bring her through to the other side. And not just through to the other side from how she entered it but better yet, she knows she'll be stronger because of it. (James 1:2-4) Life of course will not always be so 'perfect' with giggles, laughing, and smiles. Trust me I came from a very messed up home life and I know of other blogger friends who have to. And it's this reason that I blog.....to show that even if I suffered this doesn't mean my kids have to....no, no, no. Quite the opposite; Christ drew me to Him (Isaiah 49:1) and revealed a lot of hidden things I did not know (Isaiah 45:3) and with that information I was able to rise up, break the generations of abuse in my family that went way back, and essentially change the course of history for my kids. Sometimes I will blog about other things just to journal different thoughts I may have; it may not even have to do with Him. I might just share something silly or random I heard, read about, or whatnot that I wanted to share. But mostly I blog because God placed it in my heart to blog about His love, the awesome things He, and only He, can do in restoring and healing the weak, broken, lonely, depressed, sad, or other unexplained feelings. Ya see, at first my blog beginnings were based just about my family so that non local relatives and friends can view pics of our kids or get easy updates on our lives with just a click of an Internet button. (And believe me back then you wouldn't even want to view my blog; I had 'blog-a-sitis'; had no clue about the ropes of anything having to do with the blogosphere.) However God knew before I did that my blogging (journalism done publicly) would not stay in that direction. No, He eventually turned it all focused on Him. And I love that. God is no respecter of any person. (Acts 10:34) I blog because I have a passion that Christ has placed in me and I believe He wishes for me to share in what He does through that. And I truly enjoy it.

Thank you Jennifer for being such a good friend to me. Sarah

Sarah,

You truly have shared your joys and your valleys here at God's Not Finished With Us Yet. It's always inspiring to see God at work through you, and in You. I enjoy reading about what God is doing in your life. I enjoy seeing the photos of your family. Your kids are precious!

It's been a delight getting to know you through our blogs, and I have been encouraged by you many times over at my blog.

Thank you for participating in this series, "Why We Blog." It's an honor to have your voice among the voices.

I have been blogging just a little less than a year and I think I have learned one very important lesson. Seek out God and write what He puts on my heart. This way I do not worry about how many people read it, where my next post is coming from. I just write what He tells me to write about.

It makes it so much easier and more fulfilling. And it reaches who He wants it to reach.

Sweet Sarah,

You are a loving woman from the Lord.

I am so happy when I come here and read your posts. Whatever you blog about here leaves me thinking, pondering, smiling, laughing, encouraged, inspired, uplifted and so much more. You have a wonderful heart and are deeply in tune with the Lord and I so love Him for that...and I so love you for that. I thank Him for bringing you into my life along with many other faith-filled women via the blogosphere. I thank Him for the extreme love, kindness and compassion that you exude here. I thank Him for how He has shined through you lovely one and how you are so in love with Him. I thank Him for all that He has done in your life and I have to quote you here because it's so beautiful:

"Christ drew me to Him (Isaiah 49:1) and revealed a lot of hidden things I did not know (Isaiah 45:3) and with that information I was able to rise up, break the generations of abuse in my family that went way back, and essentially change the course of history for my kids."

and this:

"But mostly I blog because God placed it in my heart to blog about His love, the awesome things He, and only He, can do in restoring and healing the weak, broken, lonely, depressed, sad, or other unexplained feelings."

What an Awesome God we have! I love Him with every part of who He has made me to be, and I love coming here because you do so as well my dear, sweet friend.

Thank you again for this post of why you blog. You touched my heart deeply today.

I love you,
Alleluiabelle

I completely agree Andy C. that the most important part about being a 'Christ focused' blogger is to write whatever He lays on one's heart. Then you could never go wrong.

And thanks LisaShaw, Christy Rose, Alleluiable, Omah's Helping Hands, and Jennifer for your wonderful words as well.

This whole blogging has been such a transformation from when I begun almost 3 years ago, just focusing on me. I often think 'How selfish was I?' But He had bigger plans and with my obedience to those plans He has truly blessed me.

LisaShaw, did you ever get my reply from the email you sent me?
And Alleluiabelle, did you get my old email address? I left you a message in your blog comments with my old email yesterday and I looked for something on that address from you today but didn't see anything....would it say your name or something different? I don't want to accidently overlook you.

I love all of you guys a lot! You're such an inspiration for me in my journey as I continue to grow closer towards Him.

My apologies for not being a regular visitor on ya'lls sites, my kids 3 year old has required some extra loving, however just because I don't leave a comment doesn't mean I didn't stop by to read something. I think you all write such amazing things.

Love ya,
~Sarah Cecilia

Your post is great and inspiring. I think or hope we are all blogging to lift up our Savior. I'm not a writer, but I did a card ministry for about 6 years and then after having back surgery 2years ago I just lost the passion for it. I started a Bible study with Rachel Olsen from Proverbs 31 Ministry's and one day I just felt God wanted me to share the cards I had used. I also use a lot of songs because they minister to me and hopefully to others.
Thanks for sharing your heart,
From my heart to yours,
AliceE.

I know you blog from the heart, and it is just what I need to read. I know it is "your life". But it also brings me the "truth, the way and the way of life"/ That I am missing so much with my church family and friends.
