- Sarah Dawn at Splashin' Glory (Her site is such a blessing and joy to read. I love it!)
- Onna Hall at Toddler Craft (I just learned about her site and I love her great ideas!)
- Billy Coffey at What I Learned Today (Amazing, just awesome, gifted writer!)
- Jill at The Excellence of Wisdom (Jill is so smart and creative with her teaching lesson plans for her children's homeschooling God's way. Great, beautiful site.)
- Jamie at Happy Harper Stories (Jamie's blog is very refreshing, simple to read, and just her being herself. It's a great blog!)
- Angela at Refresh My Soul Blog (I've always enjoyed Angela's blog and I adore her blog look, which is styled to be like a journal she is writing in.)
- Alice at From the Heart (Alice has such as sweet, loving heart and is so very kind and encouraging. She is great woman of God and such a blessing to get to know.)
Now here are is my list of 7 things you may not already know about me:
- I am 5 1/2 years old than my husband. Yup, that's right! And believe me I fought God on dating him when my husband began to ask me out. I was fighting this by telling God "God, I have never dated anyone younger than me ever. This just doesn't seem right and I feel so awkward; I can't." But after all the fighting was done, God knew in the end that Jesse and I would be a perfect match together; silly, playful, loving, gentle, and fun times together, but the best part is that we both love our Christ so much and raise our children in the ways of the Good Lord.
- I had lasik eye surgery on my eyes roughly 10 years back. And although it really has been one of the best elective surgeries I did for myself there were still some setbacks, as now I have severe Chronic Dry Eye, and have to install prescribed Restasis eye drops along with Obtiv lubricant eye drops in my eyes several times daily long term, possibly forever. This may not seem like a major setback to you but for 1.) These prescription eye drops are expensive; with my insurance my husband and I still pay over $120 for a 3 month supply and these are just on DROPS!!, and for 2.) having Chronic dry eye's makes for a very uncomfortable eye. They do get very, very rough and dry and having to constantly put drops in them multiple times a day is a very interrupting task and a bit frustrating too.
- I hate, HATE being alone at night. I'm a night owl as it is but when my husband has to work nights and I'm left alone in the house with the kids I get paranoid over the smallest creaks and cracks that our house makes. Even though we have a house alarm, and other security devices, I am just a BIG baby when it comes to me being alone during the night time hours.
- I'm super silly! I love being goofy and having silly attacks with my hubby, who shares this fun side as well. We get a kick out of a lot of things that other parents might find ridiculous like when our kids began the inevitable phase of our kids laughing hysterically over burping or 'other' bodily sounds, my husband and I both thought is was quite entertaining and silly ourselves as we watched them enter this funny stage of their young lives. And of course my husband has to get into the silliness about this with them as he 'eggs' them on.
- I am not a good cook! In fact; I'm a bad cook! I hate to say it and I so wish God blessed me with the skills and talent to master up a great meal, but I just stink at it. My husband is very gentle on me about this when I do try to make a special meal that took 2-3 hours to cook but still doesn't taste 'right'. He's very sensitive to appreciating the efforts I make about this and is great at showing how this pleases him that I at least tried. But by God, what can I say? I'm just a horrible cook!
- I was partially raised by a lesbian mother. If you never read my testimony tab above you probably wouldn't know this, but if you have than you already do. This was very awkward growing up and being raised by her, though she was a loving mom in some ways; she still added a lot of confusion to my ways of thinking in many other ways. Especially years back when being gay wasn't as accepted. It was very hard on me, mainly during my teen years.
- And last, but never least, the grand finale, #7 thing that you may not know about Sarah Lopez, is that....that....I can't hide it any longer; it has to come out! I do like SpongeBob SquarePants!! I DO!! That's right, I said it, I DO!!! I actually get a kick out of some of these cartoon shows, and plus I love how this silly sponge has very great morals about being a positive and great role model in being the best that he can while he works as a Fry Cook at 'The Krusty Crab Restaurant'. It took me awhile to even view this cartoon because the name sounded so crazy to me, but once I gave it a shot I was surprised to hear my own chuckles coming out of my mouth as I laughed here and there about a few silly things. So yes, it is one of the few 'worldly' cartoons I allow my kids to watch because there isn't any bad fighting, but in fact SpongeBob actually does show very good manners and behaviors for a cartoon.
So there you have it; my list of 7 things you may not have already known about me. So to those that I have passed this award onto; it's now your turn and I can't wait to read what you have to share about yourself!! To God be the glory!!

ReplyDeleteThanks Mama Notes. These are fun to get and a blessing to give back to others; just a small little love to offer from time to time. I see you have some of your own awards posted on your site as well. Congrats to you too! Love your handprints on your blog header!! Very cute!!
ReplyDeleteSarah,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the award.
I am touched and so appreciate you wanting to share it with me.
It is neat to see the fun side of you as well! Thanks for sharing the new facts.
Blessings and love,
Jill
Neat! I'm so glad, you chose a couple of people for the award that I had wanted to include also! I'm so glad to get to know you a little better. My hubby and I tend to be silly too, and I hear you about nightime. I'm the same way. It has been easier for me since we got our dog.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day, and God Bless!
Sarah .... You splashed me today, big time! I am going to try to post this and pass it on! But my friend, still learning and our internet is going a bit crazy here in the rain forest (every time it rains, we have problems and we're in the middle of rainy season!)
ReplyDeleteThank you sweet one. May our Lord receive all the glory!
Hugs for your day,
Sarah Dawn
You are too sweet! Thanks! Congrats to you too by the way! I just love your blog!!! I look forward to checking these others out. I didn't have a chance to read the 7 things yet but will be back shortly!! I bet there will be something in them to comment on!
ReplyDeleteMuch love,
Angela
I think your blog is so blessedly creative because your blog mirrors the body of Christ in a way--you move and bend with your thoughts and worries and joys, your comment area is wonderfully called "love thoughts"...your blog, although set within boundaries (I just wrote about boundaries), ebbs and flows like rivers and winds. A new day is exactly that--they may look similar to any day--but they're not. I believe God loves that.
ReplyDeleteJill, Angela, Sarah, I was so blessed to pass this little blog award on to each of you. I love all your blogs so much. I also love many others so this doesn't mean that if I didn't pick another persons blog that I don't feel equally blessed by their site, because I do. It was such a hard pick to chose only 7, but I had to follow the rules, and that I did, by picking only 7. (Though I have been known to break these rules a bit in the past. lol.) :D
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, thanks. I am glad to learn new things about you as well. Which makes this blog award rules fun because you share things like this that others may not know about you which opens the door for people to possibly relate and strengthen your friendship more.
Blessings to you all.
Sarah
Again, thank you so much for the award. I love reading your posts. I noticed that you and I have some similarities. I'm a year older than my husband, I have chronic dry eyes caused by a medication I'm on and have to do the Restasis, eye drops, and a cream at night. When my children were younger and my husband was away I never liked staying by myself even with them in the house. I lived right behind my parents (they gave us the lot to build a house on). I would start out telling my Mother that I was going to stay with my children alone, but by 11 pm the sounds in the house would get to me and I would end up calling her to come over. Wasn't that mean of me to ask her that late. We now live in an apartment in another town (both my parents have gone home to be with Jesus) so there was a month that my husband had to be away. The pill that dries my eyes also puts me to sleep so I would set the TV to turn off about 2 hrs after I went to bed and I would go to sleep and never realized it until I woke up the next morning.
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm not too sure I could do that now and hope I never have to find out.
Blessings my friend for the award,
From my heart to yours,
AliceE.
Sarah, it was cool to read about some of the things that make you YOU! You are fearfully and wonderfully made, and He has gifted you with a fun-loving family, a great sense of humor -- as well as some trials that He is using to shape you into the woman He created you to be.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you, sister!
Sarah-Thank you so much for the award!! I am honored!! I am so glad you discovered Toddler Craft!! I can't wait to see your childrens Art Work!! I'll be giving out my awards in a few days.
ReplyDeleteOnna
Well well...I am older than my husband, I freak out at creaks when I am alone in the house at night and I love SPongeBob too...although we don't have cable so we buy the dvd sets...not up to date with the show.
ReplyDeleteIt was interesting getting to know a bit more about you...
Hey There! I love your blog! My hubby and I are also really silly and we love to laugh at burps and other bodily sounds (as you put it... we just say fart!!). At any rate, I am starting to feel led to share a few things from my past on my blog as well... in order to testify to others about how much God loves us! Your blog really hit home and is making me question my lack of disclosure about my past. Can you pray with me and for me to make the right decision? Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI am truly honored to receive the blog award!! I love it - it is an encouragement to me. :) I was away from the computer yesterday, but I do accept my award. I am glad to be bloggy friends and sisters in Christ. Isn't that awesome? To be sisters in Christ. God is so good.
